Liupanshan area and adjacent area is located southwest of the Ordos region, the region covered by middle-upper proterozoic erathem unconformity in Luliang movement consolidation above the crystalline basement craton, the middle-upper proterozoic erathem widely distributed, no significant deterioration. However, oil and gas exploration in the past focused on the Paleozoic, the study of the middle-upper proterozoic erathem a little, resulting in very weak studies.To analyze the properties on six discs basin area and its adjacent areas in middle-upper proterozoic erathem and paper finishing systems, summarize results of previous studies based on fieldwork by, profile measurement, combined with analysis and testing, combined with logging data and the latest seismic profiles and other great information on the study area stratigraphic division and distribution of middle-upper proterozoic erathem, sedimentary characteristics and tectonic evolution of a comprehensive study. Achieved the following understanding:(1) U-Pb zircon age testing and analysis based on the results of previous studies to determine the Huangqikou group belong to Changchengian system, Wangquankou group belong to jixianian system, Developed Liupanshan area and adjacent areas middle-upper proterozoic erathem stratigraphic division and correlation scheme(2) the use of logging, seismic and geochemical test data, combined with field observations, microscopic identification of the results of the study area in middle-upper proterozoic erathem sedimentary facies and depositional environments were analyzed, the results show: Huangqikou group is rift fan delta and lacustrine deposits; Wangquankou group is rift after tidal facies; Zhengmuguan group is the coastal line- glacial sediments.(3) Affected by the luliang movement, Liupan area and adjacent areas began large-scale disintegration rift, the whole of the Meso-Neoproterozoic in stretch in the earth’s crust tectonic background, intracontinental rift, epicontinental rift to intercontinental rift tectonic combination as its basic features, development of Wangquankou group of Changchengian system and Wangquankou group of jixianian system.
