Potassium is an important industrial, agricultural resources. In our country, the need of potassium is very huge and only depended on long-term imports. Mining deep underground brine with rich potassium may reduce the present status. In Sichuan basin, deep underground brine with rich potassium has been found in the Triassic, the content of potassium in deep underground brine is up to 53.267 g/L halide storage structure of the Pingluoba area. In this paper, the Triassic Leikoupo strata, the history of basin sedimentary condition, ancient plate migrations, development situation of tectonic belt were analyzed; the accumulation mode of rich brine potassium is found, and the favor zone of underground brine with rich potassium is forecasted.The sedimentary basement of Sichuan basin formed earlier than Sinian system, the Sinian system and the development of the cover after is comprehensive and keeps relatively complete. Using the Euler pole, the ancient plates’ position can be restored. The Sichuan basin was in the South China plate, in the Triassic period it is in the low latitude zone, where the climate is hot, advantageous to the development of the ancient salt basins. After Triassic, the South China plate started to drift, gradually to the present position and experienced multiphase tectonic movement of the innovation. The tectonic framework of Sichuan basin is attributed to the first Yanshan period movement mostly.The fault and fold belt, as the structure styles, are of great values to the basin brine concentration. According to the fold belt development situation, there are three main tectonic zones: the southeast fold depression zone, middle upper uplift zone and northwest depression zone. Some potassium anomaly points have been found and put on production.In Sichuan basin the source of K+ deep brine in addition to the sea water mainly include: biological sources and sources of volcanic rock. Both Na+ and K+ are common type cationic of underground brine with rich potassium, so they often considered with each other. However their sedimentary process, from different environment, are usually different. As the biological activity, Na, K element weight ratio can be changed from 1:0.03 in hydrosphere to 0.02:0.3 in the biosphere. It is possible that suitable environment for biological survival of the Triassic may provides K+; lvdou(emerald hydromica clay rock) may be another source of K+ at the bottom of the Leikoupo strata. Using the analysis function of Arc Gis software, we comprehensively analysis the tectonic belt distribution situation, comparing the development of the ancient salt basin situation. The favor zone of underground brine with rich potassium is forecasted with :1.Yunyang-Fengjie fold belt;2.Pingluoba fault fold belt;3.South Chengdu-West Jiangyang deep fault belt;4.North Leshan-West Meishan fault;5.Nanchong-Yingshan fold belt;6.Weiyuan-Zigong-Suijiang fold belt;7.Cangxi-Bazhong fault fold belt;8.Dazhou fault fold belt.
