Quartz is one of the most common minerals in the nature, the name of gem quartz is crystal. Crystal usually contain a variety of inclusions, these inclusions make crystal not only has aesthetic value, collection and economic value, but also make it worth to study. Rutile is one of the most common solid inclusions in crystal. The color of the rutile in crystals is variety, such as golden filamentous "blond", brown "copper hair crystal" and silver "titanium crystal". The directions of the rutile are different, there is one direction rutile, six shot "starlight" rutile, and out-of-order rutile. The Rutile needle length size each are not identical, some very small, only hair shaped, some also have 2-5 mm wide plate, the length of the shortest rutile invisible to the naked eye is not visible, on the other hand some bigger one up to 10 cm.The color, size and growth direction of the rutile is closely related to environment. This study selected a lot of representative specimens, those specimens were taken basic gemological testing, have using the microscope tested those specimens. Those rutile which growth in its special direction grow from the black hematite center. The Other rutile inclusions grow in random direction. Through a lot of rough and thin specimen microscope magnified observation of partial reflection microscope and found that most directional growth of rutile needle attached to a black hematite core. Those needle Rutile grow with black hematite the angle was 60°, rutile attachment base can grow into a six shot "Rutile Star", according to follow-up tests base containing titanium black hematite. Rutile literature analysis speculate affected dependent crystallographic direction core hematite growth angle was 60°. Through taken electron microprobe and composition analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy measurement test. We found the specimens obtained in this golden brown solid needles Inclusions were rutile, rutile core is dependent on the growth of black titanium-containing hematite.
