Xiaoqinling gold ore field, located at the southern margin of North China craton, is the second largest gold producer in China(after the Jiaodong district). Most of the gold veins in the shallow part have been exploited during the last twenty years, and the exploration work turn to the middle-deep part in the area. The Xiaoqinling ore field can be divided into three belts from north to south(northern, central, and southern parts), among which the northern belt has been poorly studied. Existing exploration engineering including drilling and tunnel suggests that the deposit type, mineralized feature, and wall rock alteration of the middle-deep part is quite different from the shallow part. Depending on the deep exploration project from the institution, we select the typical Dahu and Linghu deposit in the northern belt of the Xiaoqinling gold field to careful study in detail the ore-controlling structure and wall-rock alteration at mid-deep part. On the basis of the research, we establish the ore-controlling model and predict the gold prospect in the area. Our study not only contributes to the understanding of the gold mineralization in the deep part, but also be helpful to the ore exploration in the Xiaoqinling district.
