Flacourtiaceae contains about 87 genera and ca.900 species, mostly in tropical and subtropical regions, some extending into the temperate zone(Xylosma G. Forst., Idesia Maxim.). The newest molecular system (APG Ⅲ) excludes a small number of unrelated taxa and splits the majority of Flacourtiaceae into two groups, lumping one group with Achariaceae and the other with Salicaceae. As this study is mainly based on morphology revision, then the classification system in Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae is accepted. The related literatures about relation between Flacourtiaceae and Salicaceae are reviewed. So far, the comprehensive taxonomy revision of Flacourtiaceae in Pan-Himalayas hasn’t been reported, the specific numbers of genera and species of Flacourtiaceae in this area are doubtful; problems about nomenclature, type and character also exist, then the revision is necessary.Based on a large of herbarium work, literature research, as well as the evidence of mircromorphology, phytogeography and so on, the morphological features of Flacourtiaceae from Pan-Himalayas and neighboring regions were analyzed, and the taxonomic revisions were done, in order to make a contribution to the editing of Flora of Pan-Himalayas.Six names are treated as new synonyms (Casearia membranacea f. nigrescens S.S. Lai, Idesia fujianensis G.S. Fan, Poliothyrsis sinensis f. subglabra S.S. Lai, Xylosma congesta var. pubescens (Rehder & E.H. Wilson) Rehder, Xylosma controversa var. glabra S.S. Lai, Xylosma fasciculiflora S.S. Lai). One new record is excluded (Scolopia lucida Wall. ex Kurz).
