Magnetic prospecting is one of the oldest methods in geophysical exploration. It’s been used ever since it’s a wealth of experience and research in looking for ferromagnetism mineral and deep geological structure. But its application about searching for the non-magnetic minerals is used little for lacking of practical experience. This paper is going to indirectly find lead-zinc mine and explore the regular of indirect prospecting mine by using a high-precision magnetic method.Tianbao Mountain lead-zinc mine region which is one of the most important metal mineralization belts is located at the Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou lead-zinc metallogenic belt in above Yangzi block. The exploration of geological prospecting and mining for decades later, the reservation of lead-zinc mine of Tianbao Mountain is becoming less and less. Therefore, after fully collecting the material and the research’s results which has been achieved before and analyzing the geologic structure of this region, the ore deposit basic characteristic, the mining area structure characteristic, the structure evolution, the mineralization, the structure controls the ore and so on, this article may safely draw the conclusion that Tianbao Mountain lead-zinc deposit belongs to hydrothermal deposit and that the feasibility of magnetic method of indirect prospecting by collecting rock samples and measuring the magnetic parameters. Based on the foundation, people are able to look for the new lead-zinc mine around the mining area periphery by taking advantage of the high-precision magnetic method.First of all, this paper is going to use a common data processing of potential fields to process magnetical data of Tianbao Mountain. This kind of data processing method includes smoothing, conversion to pole, extension, analytic signal, the derivative conversion, etc so as to highlight the information of the target and suppress the interference information. Secondly, it’s necessary to select possible and the lead-zinc mine correlation anomalous body use the theta map method to delineate anomalous body, and then make use of the method of statistical hypothesis examination to district the region the break, the alteration belt,etc. Finally, the last step is to combine the actual geological with geochemical anomalies of the optimization target to predict and conclude the T1, T2, T3, and T4 four possible ore-forming mining area in Tianbao Mountain periphery mineral.
