The Yan9 reservoir which in the study area is a typical medium porosity and permeability oil layer in W206 Area of Ordos Basin. With the deepening of exploration and development, as the reservoir type, internal structure, distribution range and a series of characteristics are the vital factor which affect the distribution range of the underground oil and gas, and the oil reserves and production capacity, so carry on the research about the characteristics of the reservoir in the target stratum can provide important theoretical basis to formulate the reasonable development technical policies and the direction of oilfield efficient development technology.The man research object of this paper is Yan9 reservoir of W206 Area in Ordos Basin. Firstly, summarized the methods about the research of the reservoir characteristics at home and abroad through the literature research, then based on the geological data, core data, logging data and the production dynamic data of the study area and the basis of previous studies, completed the stratigraphic classification and correlation in the target stratum, carry on the research of the four characters relationship of reservoir and second well log interpretation, analyses the sand top micro-structural features and sand thickness distribution characteristics, reservoir sedimentary micro-facies, reservoir parameters distribution characteristics and reservoir heterogeneity, finally, based on the theory of cluster analysis,use the cluster analysis module of date analysis software SPSS to carry out quantitative classification of reservoir in the study area.The research shows that in the study area Yan9 reservoir can be divided into the Yan91+2,Yan93. The pay zone of Yan9 reservoir are western-leaning monoclinal structure, and develop small nose-like uplift in a local. The research of four characters relationship shows that the lithology of the study area decides physical properties and hydrocarbon, certain electrical characteristics was performance, we can analyze and reveal the lithology, physical property and hydrocarbon potential according to electrical. The distribution of sand bodies’ presents stripped along with the northwest to southeast, and the sand body ductility is good. In each small layer, the sand bodies of Yan91+2 are thicker, better oil-bearing, and it is the major oil layer. The main sedimentary microfacies of study area are distributary channel, natural levee and interdistributary bay. There is a good correlation between its permeability and porosity, and the planar distribution trend of permeability is very similar to porosity’s. The research of heterogeneity shows that Yan91+2 is most serious than Yan93. Use the cluster analysis module of date analysis software SPSS, take porosity, permeability, sand thickness, the ratio of sand thickness and formation thickness as the characterization parameters to carry out classification of reservoir in the study area, the results shows that the study classification results have a certain relevance with the classification of the currently available standard.
