The inertial entropy theory was also introduced in recent years. It is proposedthat the acceleration of the temperature (the second time derivative of the temperature)needs extra increment of the heat and the inertial entropy is introduced. The theoryalso use the entropy flow to replace the heat flow and establish the new conductionequation. The inertial entropy theory was introduced when Kuang studied thethermopiezoelectricity. In this thesis, we firstly use the theory to solve thethermoelastic dynamic problem and its description ability is studied through thecomparison with other theories. By integral transform, the numerical results of thegeneralized thermoelastic infinite medium with cylindrical cavity subjected tomoving heat source are obtained and are compared with those of the two-temperaturetheory and the Lord-Shulman theory. The effect of the relaxation times are alsodiscussed in this thesis. The results show that the inertial entropy theory whichdoesn’t violate the Fourier’s law and use fewer parameters get the same result as thatof the two-temperature theory and the relaxation temperature of strain has little effecton the results. Then, we use the theory to analyse the free vibration problem ofhomogeneous transversely isotropic thermoelastic cylindrical panel. By introducingthe displacement potential functions and using modified Bessel functions, we get thenumerical results.
