Maize genome owns two subgenomes, which have experienced differentdifferentiation stage in the evolution. The dotplot of maize and sorghum genomic level isconstructed based on the linear analysis method in this paper. The precise definitions oftwo subgenomes (Maize1, Maize2) are given according to the colinear results as well. Atthe same time, a related research on the maize subgenomic genes of whole genome andregulatory pathways is conducted by using statistics and phylogenetic tree analysismethod. The main conclusions are as follows:1) Through analyzing the gene numbers and gene length of two subgenomes on thechromosomes, the result is that the chromosomal distribution of Maize1、Maize2geneson whole genome and regulatory pathways are basic consistent;2) Through analyzing the mean, variance, minimum value, maximum value, rangeof Maize1, Maize2genes sequence length, the result is that the volatility of Maize1genessequence length are greater than Maize2gene because of the influence caused by smallerrange of gene loss;3) Two chi-square test of Maize1, Maize2gene retention situation in regulatorypathways are conducted and significantly different regulation pathways are found.Functional analysis finds that35%of significantly different regulation pathways are thecarbon metabolism as the basic metabolism of life, including carbohydrate synthesis anddegradation and glycolysis process;4) In order to further understand the evolution of Maize1, Maize2genes on theregulatory pathways, this paper designs the phylogenetic trees in pathway level. Theresults shows that the evolution of two subgenomic gene in the two pathways aredifferent. It is speculated that the differentiation of maize two subgenomes has an effecton the evolution of similar functional genes on regulatory pathways.
