The pygmy slow loris(Nycticebus pygmaeus) is one of the most endangeredprimates, listed as state-level key protective animals, appendixⅠspecies of CITES, asvulnerable species of IUCN. Daweishan nature reserve is located in the southeast ofYunnan province, which devoting to the protection of tropical montane rain forests, evergreen broad-leaved forest and abundant rare and endangered plants and animals, and pygmy slow loris is one of the key protective species. This paper confirm the distribution of pygmy slow loris in Daweishan naturereserve and its surrounding mainly through the interview survey; Vegetationinvestigation in the domain; The radio-tracking was adopted for the4~5monthsdomain research of released three pygmy slow loris individuals; Investigate thepygmy slow loris and sympatric animal species using infrared-triggered camera(camera trapping); Attitude survey of the villager through interview for the protectionof pygmy slow loris. In November24,2012-March5,2014. The author learn about that pygmy slowloris appeared in the Daweishan nature reserve and Malongdi, Yugadi, Heimadi,Shitouzhai,Gantian, Nuomi, Laoyiqing, Pikama, Huoshan, Dujia, Xilema, Guanfangand Bimayi14villages near the nature reserve.Investigation results showed that the main vegetation types are tropical rainforest, evergreen broad-leaved forest and tropical bamboo forest. These forestsfragmentation are remarkable that mostly local water-source forest, Longshan andLongshu where the nearest village is about200m to4000m far, range betweenaltitude of492m to1230m, average863±48m, for irregular steep slope, ariditysunny-slope or half sunny slope. In March2013to February2014, the domain research of the three pygmy slowlorises (Np1and Np2and Np3) show that the pygmy slow loris monthly home rangewithin1.28hm2to10.98hm2. The results of the study also found that three pygmyslow lorises all have hibernation phenomenon, in January and February, hibernationdays for11to18. So, there is a minimum value in this two month. And, height from the ground of the sleeping sites average8.4±2.2m.In March2013to March2014, a total of16593pieces were taken,243effectivephotos,115photos of the animals in these, and the automatic recording10s longvideo, for a total of1551segments. Identified12species,6kinds of birds, and other6kinds of beasts. Glires is the most abundant among these beasts, there are4; inaddition to Tamiops macclellandi, other captured animals are all nocturnal. However, the pygmy slow loris didn’t been captured, which shows their richness is very low.Attitude survey of the villager through interview for the protection of pygmyslow loris show that culture degree is the dominant element in the evaluation of themany factors affecting the villagers protective attitude, a totals of520villagers. Wecould also learn that the villagers cultivate Amomum tsaoko Crevost&Lemarie andother crops in nature reserve to increase the economic income, the banana plantinghas been extended to reserve side, that lead to a shrinking habitat area of pygmy slowloris.
