Structural Characteristics And Hydrocarbon Prospect Of Cenozoic In The Eastern Segment Of Northern Margin Block Faulting Belt Of Qaidam Basin

The degree of research and exploration are very low in the eastern segment ofnorthern margin block faulting belt of Qaidam basin. In this paper，the geologicalsetting， the Geometry characteristics， the evolution of basin， the kinematicscharacteristics and dynamic characteristics of the eastern segment of northern marginblock faulting belt of Qaidam basin were studied based on the achivements ofpredecessors，and several conclusion are gotten，they are：1、The “flower-like” structure，the “half flower-like” structure，the “Y-like” structureand the listric structure are the basic structural deformation style，they experiencedthe developing history of Initial squeezing in Paleogene，large margin extrusionstrike-slip in neogene period and finalized at Quaternary period.2、Within the period from Paleogene to Miocene，the eastern segment of northernmargin block faulting belt of Qaidam basin should be considered as a Strike-slipextrusion basin，ever since then，it transformed to a intracontinental depressionbasin.3、The result of balanced section construction and analysis indicates that the easternsegment of northern margin block faulting belt experienced evolution history fromtectonic inversion in Paleogene, and after that, a large-scale thrust napping anddifferent lifting movement tookplace with in Pliocene–Quaternary period，and thecorresponding geodynamics model was established.4、The study area could be divided in to three types petroleum accumulation zone withdifferent hydrocarbon prospect, and the corresponding proposal fit for each ofthem were put forward.5、The paper will be instructive and meaningful for hydrocarbon prospecting of theeastern segment of northern margin block faulting belt to some extent.
