Owing to limited functionality of single geo-processing service, complexgeo-processing task is accomplished through service composition. For its maturetheory and easy usability, workflow technology is used in geo-processing servicecomposition. Geo-processing task can be recognized as a geo-processing workflowwhich is accomplished through people’s collaboration. Service choreography styledworkflow focuses on collaboration between workflow nodes. It has ability ofmodeling geographers’ collaboration in geo-processing workflow. This thesis setscollaborative workflow as entry point and probes into technologies of collaborativegeo-processing workflow and geo-processing service mechanism under workflowscenario. Based on theory study, thesis proposes a collaborative geo-processingworkflow model and implements a workflow prototype system. Finally, thesis realizesa collaborative LIDAR data processing workflow to test both model and mechanismof collaborative geo-processing workflow. Content and contribution of this thesis arepresented as follow:1) Research of collaborative geo-processing workflowThesis proposes a collaborative geo-processing workflow model based on studyof workflow reference model (WfMC XPDL) and geo-processing workflowmechanism. On one hand, thesis constructs flow concept hierarchy from perspectivesof flow time dimension, flow chaining object, flow message conversion mechanismand flow resource integration mechanism. On the other hand, thesis designs ageo-processing workflow markup language which is used for flow sharing andvisualization. Additionally, thesis analyzes life cycle of collaborative geo-processingworkflow.2) Research of geo-processing service under scenario of collaborative workflowWith reference to OGC WPS, thesis proposes geo-processing service usagepattern which is both static and dynamic service binding compatible. Based onanalysis of state and granularity, thesis draws conclusion that stateless and coarsegeo-processing service is more suitable under scenario of collaborative workflow. Totackle problem of interface interoperability, thesis proposes a geo-processing interfacemodel which is both WSDL and OGC WPS compatible.3) Collaborative geo-processing service workflow prototype system Based on theoretical study, thesis implements a prototype system of collaborativegeo-processing service workflow. The system consists of geo-processing workflowengine and geo-processing service server. Both system design and implementation areanalyzed in thesis.4) Application of collaborative LIDAR data processing workflowResearch realizes LIDAR data processing through collaborative geo-processingservice workflow. Application result demonstrates that collaborative geo-processingservice workflow is suitable for complex geo-processing task which has highrequirement for people’s collaboration.
