Methods For Multi-attribute Decision Making Applying Soft Sets

There exist imprecision and uncertainty in real life. In1999, D.Molodtsov presentedthe mathematical description of soft set from the parameterized perspective for the firsttime, and pointed out that fuzzy sets could be regarded as a special kind of soft sets,which provides a powerful mathematical tool to deal with uncertainty problems. Dueto the unrestrained parameter settings, soft sets are used more widely and flexibly andconveniently than fuzzy sets, intuitionistic fuzzy sets, interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzysets. The parameter theory of soft sets can be introduced into the uncertain decisionmaking, which efectively simplifies the decision making process, reduces the uncertaintyof decision making and improves the reliability of decision making. Based on the greyrelation analysis and evidence theory, this thesis discusses multiple attribute decisionmaking methods applying soft sets, and the main work is as follows:(1) The thesis proposes a novel approach to fuzzy soft sets in decision making basedon grey relational analysis and D-S theory of evidence and gives an example. Moreover,the approach is applied to medical diagnosis. The result shows that this method isefective and feasible, and can significantly reduce the uncertainty of decision making aswell as improve the reliability of decision making.(2) The thesis proposes a novel approach to intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets in decisionmaking based on grey relational analysis and D-S theory of evidence and gives an ex-ample which shows that the approach is efective and feasible, and improve the level ofdecision making.(3) The thesis proposes a novel approach to interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy softsets in decision making based on grey relational analysis and D-S theory of evidence,gives an example and applied this approach to investment problems. The result showsthat this approach is efective and feasible, and improve the level of decision making.
