The Effect Of Expression Of Cry1Ab Gene In Torenia (Torenia Fournieri Lind.) On Insect Resistance Enhancement

Torenia（Torenia fournieri Lind.）as a model of plant transformation was being usedwildly.This article do research on torenia genetic transformation with Cry1ab gene,and mainlystudy on the expression of Cry1ab gene cause the changes of torenia insect resisitant.The Cry1ab gene was transformed to torenia by Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer,and13positive plants of torenia strains among the transformats was selected by antibioticmedium. PCR analysis showed that the Cry1ab gene could be detected in4of them,and theywere confirmed by RT-PCR analysis that the Cry1ab gene express in4of transformedplantswhile the expression of Cry1ab was not found in control plant.Mortality analysis on Mythimna separata larvae shows that the mortality of larvae feedby transgenic plant was significantly nhigher than control study. G line of transgenic plant isthe highest line of the mortality,which is100%. The mortality of A line is99.33%，B line is88.4%.However, K line is the lowest one. All of them cause the death rate significantlyhigher than control study（P＜0.01）.Total accumulation of diet consumption analysis on M. separata larvae shows that thetotal accumulation of diet consumption of larvae that feed by4line of transgenic plantsignificantly lower than control group（P＜0.01）, indicating that transgenic plant hadeffectively reduced the diet consumption of M.separata larvae.The daily cumulative weight gain of M. separata larvae showed that the daily cumulativeweight gain of larvae that feed by4line of transgenic plant significantly lower than controlgroup（P＜0.01）.Therefore, the growth and development of M. separata larvae wassignificantly inhibited by the transgenic plant...
