We can see the marked differences between biogenic calcium carbonate and inorganic calcium carbonate which have not milled in structure and functions. Biogenic calcium carbonate is obvious superior to inorganic calcium carbonate For now, people cannot access the structure of biogenic calcium carbonate by scientific methods. Analysing milling biogenic calcium carbonate has important influences on preparing calcium carbonate powder.This paper would analyse the phenomena of milling biogenic calcium carbonate by XRD, FTIR, SEM and laser particle analyzer. We should study about phase-change,size-change, morphology-change in milling biogenic calcium carbonate under the low temperature.This paper mainly concludes:(1) Aragonite is easy to transform into calcite(in the1min), and calcite is hard to transform into aragonite (till milling for5h). but after5h,there will be a breakdown process-calcite transform into aragonite quickly.(2) Milling will lead transform in calcium carbonate, pure aragonite can transform into calcite,and pure calcite can also transform into aragonite, but the radio cannot be100wt%. In this paper, using the vibrating mill, no matter aragonite or calcite, the last equilibrium state is arongite-88wt%and calcite-12wt%. This fully shows that transform process is reversible.(3)Milling aragonite and calcite has the same content. And the two kinds of particle morphology and size after milling is very similarly.(4) The final content of aragonite and calcite can be predict by Le Chatelier’s principle:the more milling power, the more aragonite. Grinding process conforms to the le chatelier’s principle, thus proves the broad applicability of le chatelier’s principle.
