The CSEM transmitter is marine electromagnetic exploration necessaryinstruments, outputting current square wave whose frequency and amplitude can beadjusted.The current wave is sent through electrode and the system can obtaineffective electromagnetic field to explore undersea oil and gas resources. In order toget effective physical data, the transmitter is required high power, high current, highprecision and at the same time, small volume, high efficiency, small ripple, lightquality is also required. The research of CSEM has a lot of significance on China’sdeep sea exploration.This paper analyzes the basic characteristics and researches status of high powerand large current transmitter, especially focus on the problem lies on AC-DC-ACstructure and put forward a new type of high efficiency transmitter based on AC-ACstructure.According to the project design index, this paper designs two kind of transmitterbased on AC-DC-AC structure and AC-AC structure. Through detailed theoreticalcalculation we required the device parameters of power circuit and finished deviceselection. Based on the actual device parameters and circuit structure, thetransmission efficiency of two kinds of structure is calculated. The calculation showsthat the electromagnetic transmitter based on AC-AC structure has highertransmission efficiency.The AC-AC electromagnetic transmitter is simulated through MATLAB. Thesimulation result indicates that the AC-AC structure is feasible. The simulation ofmodular efficiency verifies the correctness of calculation. Above all, the AC-ACtransmitter is proved feasible and high efficiency.According to the new type of AC-AC transmitter the electronic system iscompleted. The system includes power main circuit and control circuit. Uncontrolledrectifier, Hbridge inverter, step-down transformer and BUCK code circuit comprisethe main power circuit. The control part consists of IGBT driver board, MOSFETdriver board and main control board. In addition to circuit design, we discussed theproblem of power device used in practical application and proposed the relatedsolution.
