Eco-geographic pattern of vegetation is mainly affected by climatic factors. The spatial distribution pattern of vegetation always along with the change of the climate factor changes. Anyway, models and methods can not be an accurate description of vegetation patterns and climate factors in ecology. In this paper, spatially uniform distribution30nature reserves in central China are used for the study. Using stepwise regression statistical methods, climatic factors which are related to plant life form relative richness and richness patterns is screened. Establishing the mathematical model, quantitative investigate the effects of climatic factors on vegetation life form pattern. The results showed that:(1) climatic factors may explain the relative richness of plant life form pattern of54%-74%of the variance, which phanerophytes (PH), chamaephytes (CH), hemicryptophyte (H), cryptophytes (CR) and therophytes (TH) goodness of fit (R2) is0.594,0.654,0.536,0.743and0.563;(2) climatic factors may explain the pattern of plant life form richness of23%-64%of the variability, which phanerophytes richness (PH-TSR), chamaephytes richness (CH-TSR), hemicryptophyte richness (H-TSR), cryptophytes richness (CR-TSR) and therophytes richness (TH-TSR) goodness of fit (R2) is0.234,0.402,0.641,0.573and0.487;(3) Except chamaephytes richness (CH-TSR) goodness of fit is higher than chamaephytes (CH) relative richness, for other types, the relative richness of plant life forms pattern goodness of fit are all higher than plant life-form richness pattern goodness of fit;(4) mathematical model of F and t test significance level is less than0.05, indicating the climate factor and plant life form relative richness and richness patterns is significant correlation. This paper discusses the quantitative relationship between climate factors and plant life form relative richness and richness patterns. For understanding the mechanism of the formation, evolution of geographic patterns of vegetation ecology and plant biodiversity protection laid a foundation.
