With the development of digital computer technology and the simulation software of electromagnetic is generating, we can use computer to simulate the microwave cavity of various shapes, various types quickly, the optimization process of microwave cavity can be done on the computer. This method not only save time cost but also save the economic cost, it’s used by more and more microwave oven designers.The principles and industrial applications of microwave heating is introduced in this paper. The basic structure of microwave oven and several theories that research microwave cavity is needed is analyzed, and introduces the numerical methods in this article used in modeling microwave cavity. The fourth chapter and the fifth chapter is the innovative point of this paper. The fourth chapter analyzes the electromagnetic field distribution of rectangular resonant cavity without load using matlab, according to the location and quantity of waveguide, simulate the electromagnetic field distribution of the cavity under different circumstances, respectively, and a preliminary design rules are summarized. The fifth chapter uses the design rules which summarized in the fourth chapter, using HFSS software to design a load case of industrial microwave oven for microwave hot air system, and has carried on the optimization.
