Since CaM was discovered, the study of calcium messenger has aroused people’s concern. Due to environmental stress can affect the growth and development of the plants, especially for the crops, reducing its quality and production. Therefore, how the environmental stimuli to influence the growth of the plants, and calcium messenger system as the important controling system in plants, which way does it through to control all kinds of adaptive reactions of the plants, all these are matters of concern by plant nutrition world. Iron is one of the most important nutrient elements which are necessary for plants. Due to lack of iron in the environment, the plants often lack of iron,too. Crops as the food for Human, result in reducing the intake of iron, affecting the health of human.In this study, peas (Pisun sativum L.) are taken as materials. Under iron deficiency conditions, how calcium messenger system to impact the roots growth of pea, and how to control the absorption of iron are studied in this experiment. The main results of the research are shown in the following aspects:1. The calcium ion promote the growth of peas root system in iron deficiency stress. It can increase the number of lateral roots and expand the absorption range of water and nutrient for roots. At the same time, it improves the root vigour of peas under conditions of iron deficiency, increases root absorption area, to strengthen the absorption of nutrients, to better adapt to stress of the environ-ment.2.Through the influence of the absorption of mineral elements under iron deficiency stress, calcium ion can indirectly control the absorption of iron. Experimental results show that, treated with OFe, the content of potassium and that of magnesium is in a significantly positive correlation, while with100Fe, a significant negative correlation. Indicating that kinds of mineral elements possibly influence each other through some mechanisms.3. Calcium ions can improve the activity of FRO in peas roots at the conditions of iron deficiency, accelerating the reduction of Fe3+, and it can also promote the secretion of protons, increasing the biological availability of iron in rhizosphere, to increase the roots to absorb iron under iron deficiency conditions. 4. Calcium treatment increased the content of Ca2+and CaM in peas root when lack of iron, strengthening the regulation of calcium messenger to iron absorption. And through the coordination of various signal pathway, calcium messenger can cope with the outside environment intimidation.
