With the rapid development of infrared radiation characteristics of science and technology,aircraft, ballistic missiles and other aircraft are a growing concern, timely detection of these goals isimportant for military defense. But the infrared signature of the aircraft itself is closely related notonly with the flyers infrared radiation characteristics, but also the infrared radiation characteristics ofthe environmental. Therefore, the establishment of satellite remote sensing infrared detection modelfor the study is necessary. Depending on that, this paper established a model for the study of earth andlimb infrared background.Earth background infrared radiation research carried out as follows. First, with the surfacetemperature inversion model, based on the MODIS satellite remote sensing data, using the splitwindow inversion obtained surface1km resolution global surface temperature distribution in Januaryand July. Based on GLCNMO land cover data and typical surface emissivity data obtained globalsurface emissivity distribution data. In surface temperature and emissivity data, based on theestablishment of a surface radiation model calculated3~5μm and8~14μm bands’1km resolutionglobal surface infrared radiation distribution in January and July. Secondly, Once again, combinatingsurface radiation and atmospheric radiation got the distribution of the Earth’s infrared radiationbackground. Finally, based on the above study established a database of surface parameters, the earthbackground infrared radiation database and earth background infrared radiation quick calculationsoftware. The study of the earth background and the results obtained provide theoretical support, basicdata and application software for the earth background infrared radiation detection.The limb background infrared radiation research carried out as follows. First, the limbbackground infrared radiation model was set with using the MODTRAN radiation calculationsoftware. In3~5μm and8~14μm bands, the model calculated different latitudes and seasons’ limbbackground infrared radiation and analyzed the main effects influence of the limb backgroundinfrared. Secondly, based on the model and results established a limb background infrared radiationcalculation software, databases and limb background infrared radiation quick calculation software.Above research on the limb background provides a theoretical background, data base, and softwarefor the studyand sensing of limb background.In this paper, the calculation model of the earth and limb was set to get the background infraredradiation characteristics, and analyzed the main factors affecting the background radiation, and finally established databases and software. What’s more, the study of earth and limb infrared backgroundprovided theoretical support for the Earth and limb background infrared radiation detection, and thedatabase can be used for direct radiation calculation software.
