The flow around a body exists extensively in nature and real problems, such as thewind around the buildings, the river around the piers, the flow around the wings and soon.The research is very wide,especially with the development of aerospace and marineengineering, which made the research of flow more urgent. Due to the need of practicalengineering, the qualitative and quantitative analysis of non-circular cross section shellhas become a hot topic. For the flow around a cylinder, there have been many researchresults. But for the flow around a non-circular cross section shell, there are fewer re-search results because the difficulty of mathematical processing. In the real flow,thefluid is viscous, which produces resistance. For the ideal fluid, neglect the viscosityeffects, and no resistance existence. The research on the characteristics of the two fluidsflow has important theoretical significance,to the practical problem,its also has a greatguide.Based on the comformal transformation theory, zero angle attack of rigid ellipticalcylinder and arch plate flow potential function and the stream function are reached inideal incompressible potential flow. Then, draw distribution figures of potential functionand stream function, verify the reasonableness of the results.According to the ideal fluid mechanics theory, we can deduce fluid pressuredistribution function by potential function and stream function, and then get the contactsurface pressure distribution of the fluid. Take simply supported cylinder flow as anexample, analyse the fluid pressure and fluid velocity,the effects of parameters concernson them are discussed and the curves are drawn.For the elastic shell, when relative motion occurs in the fluid, which leads toproduce deformation, if there is small bending deformation of the shell, and the flowfield change is very small,we can equate the flow field before deformation to the flowfield after deformation. Then,use the finite element software,put the field pressure ofrigid shell on the elastic shell,solving the shell deformation and stress distribution. Byspecific examples, the cylindrical and elliptical cylinder elastic thin shell of small de-formation problem can be worked out. The effects of parameters concerned on the de-formation are discussed,and the related curve are drawn.By using computational fluid dynamics software Fluent to conduct numerical sim- ulation for the flow around an elliptical cylinder and arch plate in ideal fluid, whichobtains flow pattern of flow pressure, velocity vector and so on. The theoretical resultsand numerical simulation results are compared.Verifies the reliability of numericalsolution.At last,numerical simulation proceeds using FSI module of Ansys,the solutionsfrom theoretical study and numerical simulation are compared,and the factors leading tothe differences are discussed.
