This paper explains the ultrasonic location system on the basis of ultrasonic distance measurement technique. As the precision of ultrasonic distance measurement is improved, the ultrasonic location system, with the advantages of low cost, simple structure, easy to produce, mature technology, has developed into maturity gradually. On the analysis of the background, developing situation, research significance and application field of the ultrasonic location system, the paper specifies the main performance indexes of ultrasonic and ultrasonic sensor and finally chooses piezoelectric ultrasonic sensor. The overall design ideas of the system is mainly explored; the hardware part is mainly about ultrasonic transmitter module, ultrasonic receiver module and ultrasonic controller module, RFM12B wireless communication integrated on the controller module and DS18B20temperature measurement module, all of which are applied to compensate and correct the measurement errors in ultrasonic location system. The Software part demonstrates the ultrasonic location calculation and analyzes the flow chart of all the modules in ultrasonic location system, including the control program flow of the ultrasonic transmitter terminal, control program flow of the ultrasonic receiver terminal, main program flow of the PC upper computer, DS18B20temperature measurement program flow,and the programming work is instructed according to the clear flow charts of different modules.This paper analyzes experiment data in details to examine the possible measurement errors and the reason of errors in ultrasonic location system, and tries to decrease the errors in the software of the system, based on the error sources. After the data analysis of experiment results and Matlab simulation, the system ultimately has achieved the accurate error correct and realized the high sensibility and precision of the ultrasonic location system.
