In this paper, the observation and study on the microscopic aspect of the loess, so as to understand the internal structure of loess and loess particle interactions.Using electronic scanning electron microscopy (sem) of the loess samples under the condition of different magnification observation, understand the surface characteristics of the loess particles, the arrangement situation, the microstructure and pore structure of loess, loess skeleton particles contact condition, etc.Found that the differences of different particle sizes of the loess particle shape, using themethod of sieving method before hydrostatic settlement of loess samples after the order of the lines classification experiment, using the optical microscope for classification of each graingroup of soil particles obtained from the experimental observation in detail.Based on three different typical loess loess area in our country the X-ray energy spectrum analysis of test sample, understand the elements of loess particle composition content of each element, different size of main mineral composition, the loess particles.Results show that montmorillonite is mainly in the form of attachments attached on the surface of particles and the distribution of cementin the form of inside in the loess, kaolinite is mainly form the skeleton of loess particles.Kaolinite adjacent cell with strong hydrogen bonds directly links, so strong, difficult to free infiltration water molecules, thus formed the coarser particles. Montmorillonite greater distance between adjacent cell, weak connection, so the water molecules to penetrate.So we can know thatwater affects the properties of loess, such as the collapsibility of loess, the main reason is the inside of the water in the loess montmorillonite is the impact on the cement.In addition, this paper discusses the atomic force microscope in the feasibility of loess the forces between the particles, through the software PFC2d particle flow simulation of shaanxi ChanBa loess in loess skeleton particles interact porosity change situation, the loess porosityis smaller, the loess skeleton particles cementation between the more significant.By understanding the basic properties of loess particles, to provide the mechanical properties of loess macro to liquidate according to the basic theory, to research on the special properties of loess can offer reliable basic data.
