With the development of the navigation and positioning technology, north-seekinghas been widely applied to various fields. Compared with gyro north-seeking system,non-gyro north-seeking system has advantages such as simple structure, fast response,low cost and good stability. North-seeking haswide applications in navigation,exploration, mining, engineering measurements, especially in shale gas exploration,exploitation. Based on the practical application environment of accelerometerNorth-seeking system, on the background of some geological shale gas exploration andexploitation, research and design accelerometer North-seeking system.In this paper, on the background of shale gas exploration and exploitation, makefull use of the advantages of accelerometer, such as small size, simple structure, highsensitivity, high reliability, Study north-seeking system use flexible quartzaccelerometer as kernel. Focus on the accelerometer data acquisition and processingbased on FPGA.Because accelerometer output signal is relatively weak, the currentamplitude is very low, it is susceptible to interference from external conditions, themeasurement is difficult and other shortcomings, so research and use of a discrete fastforward cross wavelet transform (Mallat algorithm) methods and it’s applicationinaccelerometer output data noise eliminationExperimental results show that itcan reducethe most part value of noise signal. Based on this, use dynamic performance teste to testnorth-seeking system. Experimental results show that the system has the advantages oflow cost,fast response,good stability and simple structure,so it meet the need of somegeological background of shale gas.First of all,this paper details the development situation at home and abroad ofnorth-seeking system, and explains the basic principles of north-seeking. Based on this,analyzes the main factors that affect the accuracy of north-seeking system and proposesways to improve accuracy. At the same time the characteristics of the accelerometeroutput signals are analyzed to prepare for the subsequent design.Next, the hardware circuit of I/V conversion module and sophisticated dataacquisition moduleare designed.According to the FPGA top-down design approach,using Verilog HDL hardware description language for precision data acquisition moduleand transmission module to describe, while the simulation waveform of each module is given.It verifies the correctness of these two modules. For data acquisition speed is fargreater than the serial transfer speed issues, we use smoothing algorithms to processe.Finally, learn the basic principle of wavelet transform.Mallat algorithm is proposedto process the data. Study and application two algorithms of multivariate fitting andcross-correlation detection to calculate data, so as to find north corner. MATLABsimulation of algorithms, show the effectiveness of the algorithms Dynamic tests toverify the performanceof the north-seeking system, it indicates that the system has theadvantages of fast response, low cost, simple structure, good reliability and so on.
