Response photonic crystal is a new kind of optical functional material. It isbecoming a hot topic in the field of functional material, because of the unique opticalproperties. Responsive photonic crystal will change the reflective wavelength whenthe external physical or chemical stimuli are different, so responsive photonic crystalis widely used in producing display units and detection devices. In this paper, thepreparation and properties of response photonic crystals were researched in detail.The main works in this paper include:The monodispersed SiO2and PS nanospheres were prepared, they both haveuniform size and morphology. And the main factor of influencing the particle size wasdetermined by the method of orthogonal experiment. By adjusting the dosage ofreactant, a series of particles with the size in the range of180~300nm were prepared,and the preparation process were controllable.Using the prepared nanospheres, the3D photonic crystals with a smooth surfaceand less defects were prepared by the improved method of vertical depositionimproved self-assemble. The best self-assembly process was get by the Processoptimization. For the SiO2photonic crystal, the optimum self-assembly process is theself-assemble solution concentration is0.075g/mL and the self-assemble temperatureis40℃. For PS photonic crystals the optimum process is the mass fraction of theself-assemble solution is0.8‰and the self-assemble temperature is60℃. Theflexible plastic substrates were used to instead of rigid glass substrates. the flexiblephotonic crystals with high quality were got by optimizing the preparation conditions.Using flexible substrates provide the possibility for the flexible devices.Using the3D photonic crystals as the templates and AM/AA as the monomer,inverse opal hydrogels (IOHs) were prepared by using the template method. Thesolvent response properties of the IOH, the reflection wavelength of the IOH is445.1nm and516.7nm when it was in alcohol and H2O, the range of the change is71.6nm。By introducing the AMPS to the IOH, the solvent and electric responseperformance was improved. The range of the reflection wavelength is changed from 71.6nm to113.7nm. The reflection wavelength of the IOH is changed from566.3nmand541.6nm, and the responsive time is56s.
