To study the species diversity pattern of carabids and its relation with environment factors in different ways of land use, systematic investigation of carabid beetles were surveyed from May to October in 2009 by pitfall traps in Saibei Administrative Region, Hebei Province, Northern China. Carabid beetles caught from six habitats of different land uses, i.e., shrub-meadow, potato land, clover field, enclosed meadow, moderate grazing meadow and heavy grazing meadow, were identified and analyzed. The research results and main conclusions were summaried as follows:1. The results showed that a total of 16664 carabid beetles were collected, belonging to 10 genera and 18 species. Among all collected specimens, Pterostichus fortipes, Carabus latreillei, Cymindis binotata and Harpalus allidipennis accounted for 64%, 9.89%,5.87% and 5.35% of total specimens, respectively.2. The highest number of carabid beetles was found in clover field and enclosed meadow, and the lowest density in heavy grazing meadow. Contrast species of different ways of land use in two years, we found Moderate interference is helpful to improve the species diversity, and Low-alcohol interference and Highly interference are all against of biodiversity maintenance. The density and diversity index of carabids are different of significance in different ways of habitat land . Moderate grazing grass species of plants, density and other uses sample differences are significant.3. Beetles seasonal activities were mainly from June to September, and peaked in July and August. Various species in different land use patterns have different seasonal trends. The same species in different land uses habitat number peak out time are not uniform.4. The result of clustering analysis showed that the similarity of beetle community in diferent habitats accords with interference strength and land use pattern. Compare two years clustering analysis results found moderate grazing grassland has degradation trend. 5. The linear correlation analysis Of beetles individual number and environmental factors results are shown that the methods of land use changes will affect plant species and vegetation density, vegetation, plant biomass, litter, and made dry content, soil temperature and humidity changes.6. The size of carabid beetles has close relationship within plant height, litter, and made dry content, underground 5cm soil temperature and humidity7. Canonical corresponding analysis indicated that the soil moisture, soil temperature, plant cover plant height were important environmental factors in community composed. Further indication that moderate grazing pasture degenerate facts.
