As the status of cities more and more important in international economy in the future, the development of the world will mainly depend on the vigorous increasing of thousands of hundreds of cities. The competition among countries become the competition among cities. Facing the severe competition, every city should catch the opportunities of development or growing, avoid the risk of failure or decaying, attracting investment, tourists and inhabitants. City marketing is the most effective system, means or way for cities.However there isn't a Chinese city adopting cities marketing completely, specialists in Theory territory rarely pay attention to it. No matter in Theory or in practice, misunderstand and vacancy still exist. All of this make cities imperiously to adopt and apply the thinking, theory and methodology of Marketing. As cities are so different with corporations, it is essential to research how to apply marketing theory on cities.This paper'main thought and creation is combining Mike Polter's country competition and Philip Kotler's Marketing Theory. It is a integrated and new cities marketing.Three parts constitute this paper.
