Research On Effect Of Contract Production Mode In Food Safety

With the development of economy and the raising of people's living standard, people's demand for safe food is increasing constantly. But the food safety problem occurs frequently. Agri-food is the origin and the base to ensure food safety, and households are the principal part to produce agri-food, playing the most pivotal role in the productive and circulation process of agri-food. Otherwise, China is a big agricultural country of long history and has a great quantity of households. The households are very dispersive, their productive scales are small and their education degree is very low. So it's very difficult to produce safe agri-food for the small households and also difficult to manage and supervise them for the government.Many phenomena above indicate that traditional agri-food production mode didn't adapt the demand of safe food of modern market. To satisfy the demand of market and reduce trade cost, companies and households in the food supply chain would take the most efficient cooperation mode. Contract production mode comes into being and develops rapidly, which is the necessity of market's development. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the positive effect of contract production mode which is the main agricultural industrialization mode in increasing food safety and farmers' income.This paper first constructs a theory frame on the basis of reviewing and estimating food safety and agriculture industrialization. And it utilizes the investigation data to analyze the individual character, conditions of which households participate industrialization organization and produce safe agri-food etc, then uses mathematical model to make further analyzing. Firstly, the paper makes use of linear regression model to analyze households' income. Secondly, it uses Logit model to quantitatively analyze factors which affect households to produce safe agri-food. This paper approves the positive effect of contract production mode to increase farmers' income and food safety from a point of view of quantitatively analysis, which is also the innovation of the paper.Some policy implications are suggested on the base of the above analysis: To innovate "cooperation & farmer" industrialization mode;To pay attention to the effect of supermarkets in agri-food supply chain;To perfect the inner profit distribution system of agricultural industrialization organization. To make households' behavior of pesticide usage standardization and strengthen the households' consciousness of quality and safety of agri-food.
