Work Research is the most important foundation technology in Industrial Engineering. It was born between at the end of 19th century and in the beginning of 20th century. Although time is not very long, Work Research has brought the huge economic profit and social benefit for enterprises, produced the widespread and profound influence all over the world.This thesis makes research on the n# fuel tank section of some model plane in some company with the principle and technology of Work Research. We optimize the process of the n# fuel tank section by "5W1H" inquiry technologies and "ECSIR" five principles. It aims at reducing the assembly cycle of the n# fuel tank section, improving the quality of the product, reducing the labor intensity of workers. This thesis does the following several aspects:Firstly, paper elaborates on the basic principle of Work Research. Secondly, paper introduces the composition structure and the manufacture craft characteristic of airplanes, describes the structure and the main assembly process and the assembly characteristic of the n# fuel tank section, points out the assembly accuracy control of the n# fuel tank section.Thirdly, paper analyses in detail problems which exist in the current riveted assembly of the n# fuel tank section, proposes the improve measures against the existent problems.Finally, paper forecasts in theory the positive effect that the new plan will bring, introduces the practical result after approval test, analyses the differences of both.This thesis will help enterprises understand correctly the practical value of Work Research and stimulate the great enthusiasm for applying Work Research. Then enterprises can distribute rationally the limited resources and realize the maximal profit.
