After the appearance of the microfinance from 20th century 70's, the economy developing history of developing country had proven that the microfinance is an effective way to relieve the poverty and to obtain employment. The developing history of microfinance in China is just few years, but microfinance grows rapidly, especially in 2005 and 2006, under the pushing of Central Bank and government, the rural microfinance is fully under way, the "credit-only" microfinance corporations have been established, the folk capital takes part in the microfinance market, in addition to the existing nearly 300 NGOs (non government organizations), rural finance has obtained an amazing achievement in relieving poverty. However, we also notice, the state of development of microfinance in our country is still difficult to meet the requirement for social economic development, a great deal of problems exist, for instance, the NGOs do not have a legal status to engage in financial operations;the Rural Credit Cooperatives, as the only financial institution to manage the microfinance, have burdened too much. During this rainstorm-like advance process, the Rural Credit Cooperatives have shown some serious difficulties, such as the shortage of capital, the big risk etc. The sustainable development problem of microfinance is an urgent subject to be solved in front of people. The first and second chapters of this thesis are the introduction of rural microfinance in China and the definition of sustainable development, I do not think the microfinance in our country accords with the demands for sustainable development at present; The third chapter analyze the restriction of the sustainable development of microfinance from three aspects: Macroscopic factor, Microscopic factor (the NGO microfinance institutions and the financial organizations) .The fourth chapter gives some suggestions to the restriction factor: the macroscopic unsuitable factor needs the government and the central bank continual readjustment and the consummation, the NGOs microfinance institutions can draw lessons from the foreign " the fund wholesale" scheme, In view of the Rural Credit Cooperatives, besides the suggestions to the extant questions, I also elaborated the plan of" microfinance + insurance" in the fifth part.
