Research On The Regional Culture And Development Of Tourism In DanDong

The regional culture is the essence of the tourism development. The context isthe topic of the development of the regional tourism culture and it is a background ofthe regional geography, history and culture. Only doing like this, would the regionaldevelopment have the solid foundation for tourism sustainable development. The firststep working is analyzing related literature about the regional culture development asthe theoretical base for this thesis. At the same time, I adopted the theories of thetourism marketing, festival and event management and the experience economy andalso analyzed the situation of the Dandong regional tourism culture. I analysedsystematically the Dandong regional culture system. This research for the Dandongregional tourism culture can be a science of theories for further developing thetourism industry and it may have higher practical value for making the tourismdevelopment strategy. The aim of the research is to enhance the destinationcompetitiveness and the boom of the tourism development of Dandong.The thesis is divided into the five parts:In the first part, I interpreted the background, motivation and purpose of thisresearch, the method and restrict in the research. The function of the regional cultureresearch has been emphasized in the aspects of setting up the city image andstrengthening the city competitiveness.In the second part, the research carries on the analysis the basic theories aboutregional culture. I approached the all kinds of the environmental background of theregional culture formation in Dandong. Furthermore, I divided the Dandong's cultureinto five categories of regional culture according to the environment backgrounds,such as geography, history and people's custom etc. The development of culturallandscape gallery along Yalu River, were focused on the six types cultures relation toborder-area culture, history, oceans, folk-custom, eco-culture, modern town landscape.In the third part, I have analysed the system of the regional culture category inDandong. I analysed the function of the Yalu river culture as a context to construct theregional culture system that the culture category consists of the border area culturaltype, ocean cultural type, folk cultural type, the ecosystem cultural type and moderncities' culture. I further elaborate the context of the region and it's basic way ofdeveloping regional tourism culture.In the fourth part, the research applies the regional analysis method and putsforward the strategic plan for further developing the regional culture system inDandong. It will focus on the environmental construction for cultural landscapegallery along Yalu River, developing the cities' festival and event, take the advantageof the eco-tourism environment, developing experimental tourism product andmarketing experiential tourism product. It aims at the cities' competition in the region.It is the core part of this thesis.The fifth part is conclusions, I carry on the summary to this thesis, which isconcerning about the regional culture with the points of view.
