| Jiang. G. R. (2005) proposed a three-dimension model on the depth of counseling process. The model hypothesized the counseling session would go deeper along unemotional-emotional, impersonal-personal, non- here- and- now- here- and- now dimensions. In order to validate this model, 28 sessions in a university counseling center were videotaped and coded in terms of the model. Structure Equation Model (SEM) was used to examine the relations between the coding and counselors and clients' evaluation of the session depth. The results were as follows:(1) Clients and counselors had different evaluation on the session depth, clients' evaluation was more positive than counselors';(2) The model correlated significantly with counselors' evaluation of the session depth, but not with the clients';(3) Some patterns of the curves of three dimensions changing with time in a session were found, though witch we could know more about the counseling process. |
