Growing Mechanism And Integration Modes Of Technological Capabilities During Industry Conversion

The enterprises which pursuit their persistent development should be sensitive to the environment. Conversion is often a sensible choice when an enterprise difficultly makes a further development in the original industry. In this course, the new technological capability has become a key factor influencing success or not of industry conversion. The research aims at how to mine and utilize enterprises' original knowledge and technical competences, carry out technological learning in new industry, and finally integrate the original and new enterprise recourses to develop new technological capability during industry conversion. Hopefully, the research can provide the theoretical direction and an analysis tool to those enterprises that are devoted to rebuilding their technological capabilities under the fast-changing situation of industry structure.The concept of industry conversion is firstly defined and following the relationship between technology and technical competences is elaborated. The domestic and foreign related literatures are reviewed, and then on basis of industry conversion, technical commences and knowledge platform theory, the knowledge integration platform for the conversion enterprises is constructed. According to the platform, the growing mechanism of technical competences during industry conversion is analyzed, otherwise the evolvement system model is constructed to show that the technological capabilities are evolved with path dependence as a common characteristic. Based on the research above, in the fourth chapter the cultivation models of technological capabilities of conversion enterprises are chosen and the cultivation models selection is summarized based on twenty-four cases investigated and analyzed by our research team. Finally, based on the theory of knowledge integration, the content and realization mechanism of knowledge integration are discussed and furthermore, the integration model of technological capabilities is constructed. Two typical cases on different conversion spans are used to prove the validity of the integration application model of technological capabilities.Three conclusions are summarized in the paper. Firstly, the knowledge integration platform is the effective tool of analyzing the growing mechanism of technical competences during industry conversion. Secondly, the original technology mining and technological learning in new industry are two key steps of cultivating the technical competencies of conversion enterprises. Finally, the integration model of technological capabilities isconstructed in order to search for the path of improving the technological capabilities during industry conversion.
