Prescription And Disputes On Western Economics And Its Research Methods

In this paper, we first review and investigate the prescriptions and standings of modern western economists on the research object, characters, purpose and significance, and methods of economic research; and also their disputes on the topics. And we use the standpoint and methods of Marxism to evaluate these prescriptions and disputes.After this, the paper studies the history course and the content of the conversion from classical economics to new-classical economics, especially emphasizes on the long big disputes about the economics methods between the western economists in the last 30 years of 19th. We analyze the relation between the formation and the development of classical economics with the contemporary philosophy thoughts, and influence of the contemporary philosophy thoughts on the conversion from classical economics to new-classical economics. And we clarify the historic influence of this conversion on the development of western economics.At last, after reviewing this historic conversion and combining this with the developing fact of our Chinese economics, the author concludes that: 1, The convention and the development of economics takes the convention and the development of philosophy as its base; so we should uphold the philosophy spirit of advancing with time, to promote the development of our economics. 2, The progress of economics should be founded on the solid foundation of the economists' common comprehension about the basic principle and the theory premises of economic research; and we should ask closely metaphysical questions on economics.
