By applying both the qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, this essay does research on such issues like overall situation of residents' deposit, deposit structure, factors that influence the residents' deposit and the interest rate elasticity,on this basis it is hoped to have an accurate recognition of the important reality that China has so high deposit rate, and also give some proper recommendations that fit our country's present situation well on that. This essay could be divided into three parts: First,through analysis of the residents' deposit in China,it has pointed out the over-high rate of deposits crush the normal consumer spending seriously, it leads to insufficient domestic needs in China . Second,through analysis on the forming reasons of the high deposit and the interest rate elasticity,it points out it doesn't prove that the fluctuation of interest rate explains the residents' deposit interest rate elasticity,it also doesn't prove the resident gross deposits elasticity. Actually the resident disposable income increase is the basic factor for China's high speed deposit increase. Third,Through analyzing the high volume of savings influences the shouldering of China's economy, point out because of the slow down on residents income increase, it leads to pessimistic attitude for residents to the future income increase expectancy,shrinkage of consuming needs, low rate of residents consumption,over-high deposit rate,deficiency consumption on loan,unbalanced deposit structure and also the financial risk that arising from the low efficiency of deposits switching to investment. In this essay,it provides some advice on all these.
