WCDMA technology has a wide coverage, good communications, high frequency reuse, low power, high-security and anti-jamming features, which make the WCDMA to be one of the most promising third-generation mobile communication standard. In recent years, WCDMA technology makes significant progress by Ericsson, Nokia, NTT, ZTE, Huawei and other communication companies. A group of new technology has been applied, such as sub-set of launch, MIMO technology, CPC technology. RAKE receiver is still the most important part in WCDMA communication system. To improve the performance of RAKE receiver effectively has become the focus of WCDMA system. In this thesis, the wireless communication environment and the characteristics of wireless multi-path channel are studied. After discussing the characteristics of the mobile radio channel, a multipath Rayleigh fading channel model is presented. It is important to understand the following algorithm. It also play a key role in the following research. This thesis introduces the multipath Search Algorithm. Its main roles are multipath searching and multipath management. Then the thesis describes the channel estimation algorithm, the frequency offset estimation and compensation algorithm and the sub-collections algorithms. These three algorithms are aimed at the process of signal transmission in the wireless channel by the phase compensation, the frequency offset compensation and the amplitude compensation. In this thesis, algorithms application are explored in detail. For example, this thesis optimizes the threshold factor of searcher, evaluates the performance of HS-DPCCH channel estimation algorithm, solves the doppler efect of high-speed train. Finally, it studies the DPCCH channel detection algorithm. This thesis provides a theoretical foundation for the development of xx baseband chip and has made a great contribution to reduce the complexity of baseband chip. Some of the parameters obtained through simulation are instructive for the chip test.
