Design And Implementation Of The Password Automatically Batch Modify Software

The 21st century has witnessed a time in which network operators attach more importance to information security by adopting various security strategies and mechanisms. In information security, code security is paramount. For network operators, their equipments must be capable of ensuring the security of system accounts and codes.Nowadays, all network operators consider code security as their top priority, and have pose a wide variety of requirements and specifications for code. However, the growing number of network element calls for more staff changing codes regularly, rendering this task a tough one. In order to solve this problem, we designed a automatic code-changing software via Visual Basic to replace manual work, ensuring the high frequency of code changing and complexity of code formation on the one hand, and meeting the demand of massive operation on the other hand.This software features the following five functions:Network Classification: This function is to classify the network according to the habit of equipment operators, engineering ownership, and server system ownership etc. This function is facilitating due to the large amount of equipments in different projects and systems.New password inspection: Catering for the need of information security, this software adopt the general strategy of requiring new code input twice to ensure the user gives new code he/she meant. Meanwhile, this software have high requirements for the code complexity– the code must include at least six elements, containing numbers, letters(uppercase or lowercase), and special characters. New codes must go through code inspection before they are effective.Manual Script Review: After the network element selection and code setting, this software will automatically generate code-modification script in the process of script distribution, which allows users to re-affirm the correctness of code-modification script so as to prevent unwanted incidents and to enhance security.After determining the script, this software will automatically login to the corresponding network element to modify the code. Unless new problems, no manual work is required. By code modification, this software will generate detailed password changing log with eye-catching error messages for failure to modify the code, thus facilitating the result review of users and ensure the correctness of code modification.This software can be used on all system host based on UNIX and LINUX. All the user need to do is to add or modify configuration files under the configuration folder. For those who do not use UNIX and LINUX, modify the command of user name and code, change the command format in script generation module, and add or modify configuration files.
