Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a resource-constrained which makes it essential for sensor node conserve energy when meeting communication needs. To lower sensor node energy cost, increase node survival time and then increase whole WSN survival time, the key issue is how to adjust transmission power to optimal range.Close loop power control is a mature technology in CDMA system. A peer to peer fuzzy power control algorithm of wireless sensor nodes is proposed by means of adding fuzzy logic controller to close loop power control technology. In wireless sensor peer to peer model, engineer can design fuzzy logic controller in receiving node according to prior experience. Within fuzzy rules bound, this controller computes with the fuzzification QoS parameter and then outputs defuzzification power adjustment value. Receiving node feeds back the result to sending node. Then sending node adjusts its transmission power. Simulations show that this algorithm can prolong effective communication distance and network survival time.At the beginning, the current research situation of power control methods in WSN at home and abroad is stated, the reason of idea generation is explained. Later, it is a brief introduction of general knowledge in WSN. Following chapter reviews the history of fuzzy logic and technology of fuzzy control theory related. On the basis of these preparation, a novel fuzzy algorithm for power control of wireless sensor nodes is presented in chapter 4. The improved algorithm is presented in chapter 5. Simulations show that this algorithm can get better performance on effective communication distance and network survival time.
