As Internet infiltrates every corner of people's daily life, we want fast, reliable, highly qualified and secure network services. In order to realize this objective, we need effective administration of network. By this way, we can keep the network running normally, also can reduce or avoid expense result from network fault.The development of local area network, giving users a vast convenience of working, learning and communication, but a number of problems such as using P2P tools for downloading, resulting in a huge consumption of network bandwidth, reducing network performance; some character encodings will be for a long time, identify the Chinese character encoding is more difficult, leading to garbled emerging; LAN management system needs to improve in time to follow up the ever-changing of network, Therefore, the system itself is also need to constantly updating. As a system administrator, you maintain a number of management systems, so the automated upgrading system is essential.This paper starts with the introduction of some relative materials of the local area network.The first chapter focuses on the local standards, communications and management protocols of local area network. The second chapter focuses on management knowledge of the local area network. The third chapter describes the architecture of p2p protocol analysis system. The fourth chapter describes the Chinese character encoding identification. The fifth chapter describes automatic updating system. We will solve these problems and improve the LAN environment, so our network will be more reliable. At last, in order to improve the system, this paper concludes the short comes and advantages of it.
