With the development of magnesium alloys database, data maintenance based on SQL Server database table has become relatively laggard, and the security mechanism of magnesium alloys database is not systematic and comprehensive enough. In order to improve the maintenance efficiency of magnesium alloys data and to ensure the security of magnesium alloys data, a new management platform of maintenace system for magnesium alloys data needs to be developed and a new security mechanism needs to be established.In the present work, a database maintenance platform based on WEB and ASP.NET was built to target the maintenance of magnesium alloys database which is low efficient, error-prone and inconvenient to manage. By analyses of characteristics of magnesium alloys data, it is concluded that the magnesium alloys date is of rapid update, diversity, relevance and complexity. The structure and function of the whole maintenance system was designed according to the characteristics of magnesium alloys data, and the maintenance system for magnesium alloys data which matches the characteristics was built. The whole system was found to work well and proved to break through the region restraint of data maintenance, which improved the efficiency greatly compared with former maintenance method. The present work establishes an important foundation for the stable development of magnesium alloys database.The security mechanism which aims at SQL Server system security, data security and applications security was established to target the exposed security problems of magnesium alloys database. The control over administrators was enhanced on the server system level. The data security grade was divided, and the data was encrypted on data level. Authority distribution and control of visitors were enhanced via role-based access control on application level. The above series safety measures provides with powerful technical support for the safe, reliable and stable operation of the magnesium alloys database and the website of national engineering research center for magnesium alloys.With the establishment of maintenance system and realization of security mechanism, the maintenance alloys database,the maintenance efficiency of magnesium alloys database was improved, and the integrity, consistency and security of magnesium alloys data were ensured in addition to keep with the characteristics of magnesium alloys data.
