Recent year, with the development of robot technology, robot has wide used in industry. In dealing with explosive ordnance, foreign countries have already used robot to replace people, but in china we fell behind our foreign colleagues.Now terrorism is rampant in the world,the EOD(explosive ordnance disposal)robot is become the hotspot in special robot.According to this situation, Institute of Intelligent machine of Chinese Academy of Science combine with HEBEI University of Technology to develop this EOD robot. In order to make robots more standardized, we choose the standard devices in designing and developing process.In this paper, it first introduces the development of EOD robot's technology home and abroad, and puts out with EOD robot's technology criterion of design. Then it introduces the design of the robot body structure and the control system of the whole structure.The design of hardware and software of the control system of EOD robot is mainly introduced.It includes the design of software and hardware of the vehicle control system and the remote control system. The hardware design includes the circuit design of the control board, internal components selection of the control box and the construction of the remote control system.The software design includes the program design of the total control module, hydraulic module, servo module and the PID programming.At present, the design of the EOD robot has been completed. Through the test in the experiment,it meets the design requirements. And it also provides the reliable experimental basis for the improvement of the robot.
