In the field of modern optoelectronic information technology, aspherical lens are attracting more and more attention because of its small aberration and good imaging performance, so developing a low cost and efficient method of fabricating aspherical lens become a new research focus. In this thesis, a novel method of fabricating aspherical lens and lens array based on the technique of liquid shape manipulation by electrostatic field is proposed, and an experimental system is developed. UV curable polymer is dropped on the substrate to be a liquid lens, and electrostatic field is employed to manipulate the shape of the liquid lens to aspherical shape. The surface profile and focal spot images of liquid lens are in situ measured to analyze its imaging performance, and when ideal surface profile and focal spot are detected, ultraviolet light is used to cure the lens to solid lens. The aspherical lenses fabricated by this method have smooth surface and good optical imaging performance, and using this method, in situ assembling and adjusting a optical system can be realized.A multi-axis motion control system is developed according to the aspherical liquid lens fabrication platform. It guarantees precisely positioning for all parts of the platform, and realized automatic operation of fabricating liquid lens and lens array. Based on the lens focus spot monitoring optical path, an auto-focusing system is developed, which helps to find and monitor the focal spot of liquid lens, and guarantee the imaging performance of the cured aspherical lens.A series of experiments are made on the aspherical liquid lens fabrication platform. Experimental results about lens shape manipulated by electrostatic filed are studied, and many kinds of plane-convex aspherical lenses and lens arrays are fabricated. By improving fabrication platform, a kind of aspherical compound lens which has longer focal length, bigger zoom range and small aberration at the same time is fabricated. This greatly widens the application range of the aspherical liquid lens.
