At present, digital video watermarking is one of the hot and difficult spot in digital watermarking research. With the rapid popularization of VCD, DVD and VOD, digital video piracy and hostile tampering is getting much easier to realize. Consequently, it has become the central issue in electronic production market and film making field to solve the problem of copyright protection, piracy trace and content authentication. Research and application on video watermarking has proved to be the common focus in both academic and commercial circle.Digital video watermarking is embedded into the digital video by utilizing plenty of redundant information. Thus, it can be assumed as the proof of copyright and authentication. By this means, the video quality can be free of damage and the target of protection and authentication can be achieved as well.In this thesis, a Differential Engergy Watermarking (DEW) algorithm has been put forward which is based on Finite State Machine (FSM) and Watson visual model against video time-space tampering. There are two innovations: Intra-frame watermarking algorithm based on Watson visual model and Inter-frame watermarking algorithm based on FSM model.Intra-frame DEW algorithm based on Watson visual model improves classical DEW by considering initial shelter threshold as well as brightness and contrast adjustment to get the value of Just Noticeable Difference (JND). Before embedding, JND, the noticeable minimal difference, is calculated with Watson visual model. Then the DEW watermarking is embedded in method of flooding, so that the watermarking will be of good invisibility and robustness to common intra-frame interference.Inter-frame watermarking based on FSM model is the kernel of the whole algorithm, which is to solve the problem of synchronization in digital video watermarking. Its main thinking is to embed the watermarking one frame after another and to generate the watermarking needed in next frame in the way of FSM according to the one of the current frame. Due to the correlativity among the frames, when the frame with watermarking is changed, the model will detect and synchronize it. The algorithm is designed to detect synchronous tampering because of strong fragility against hostile inter-frame attack. Besides, it performs well in invisibility and security. In summary, the algorithm designs the watermarking with strong robust against intra-frame interference and strong fragility against inter-frame attack, which performs well against time synchronous tampering. In the thesis it will be proved with experiments.
