Due to wireless communications in Ad Hoc networks, each node can move fast independently, the network topology structure is changing constantly, so the link can be down frequently. When any link is down, another available link or a new route should be found to restore the connections, which can cost limited network resources and node's power energy greatly in Ad Hoc networks. Also, routing maintenance starts up only after link failure is detected, which not only lead to delay greatly, but also increase the packet loss probability. Especially when the topology changes frequently, the quality of network application service is greatly influenced, which can reduce the operation performance of the network. In an ad hoc network, the topology varies as a result of the mobility of its mobile hosts. Consequently, we propose a link stability-based routing protocol (LSRP). The proposed protocol gets nodes'location information through GPS, and then counts the dictations between nodes. According to that it counts the link stability. Then make link stability as routing standard, chooses the link which stability is higher than the threshold to transmit data packets and improve network performance. To improve network performance deeply, we propose a fuzzy combination model-based stability prediction routing protocol (FCM-SPRP) base on LSRP. In the stage of routing maintenance, the protocol predicts link stability in the ad hoc network based on the fuzzy combination model, and then according the future predicted result it performs routing pre-restoration before the link is down, which can avoid link failure and improve network performance.AODV,LSRP and FCM-SPRP are simulated in NS2 and are compared and analyzed form three angles. Simulation results show that the performances of LSRP and FCM-SPRP is advanced than AODV in three aspect such as different nodes speed, pause time and nodes density. Compare FCM-SPRP which is added prediction and LSRP, the performances in packet delivery rate and number of breaking link are advanced.
