Development of science and technology promoting social progress, the robot regarded as an important indicator of science and technology development has been increasingly used in various fields of society. Unmanned reconnaissance aircraft for military, machinery hand for industrial product, machinery toy dog in addition and so on are familiar with people. The interactive chess robot system designed in this article, demonstrates the power of the robot by way of elaborating working principle. The system involves several major technologies as visual recognition, image processing, chess algorithm design, robot control, multimedia, interaction, serial communication. The main aspects in this article include:1) The design and implementation of new identification algorithms. The original algorithm of chess identification uses multi-standard combination of color, but the new algorithm of chess identification uses two-color ratio.2) Game Algorithm Design. In this paper I will do in-depth exposition on the algorithm of Gobang, Checkers, Chess game which applies to the system.3) The algorithm design of automatically moving chess by robot. In this paper, I will introduce the details of automatically moving algorithm.4) Robot Control. The Robot used in the system is produced by the company of MOTORMAN. In this paper I will introduce the process of the establishment of coordinate system for the Robot and elaborate on the method of communication between Robot and computer.5) System debugging. The interactive chess robot system is a practical application system, which works more than eight hours everyday. So the debug of system is very important, this article will do elaborate on the principle of design for external debug.
