The Research Of Buffer Overflow Vulnerability On Windows Systems

With the development of the Internet, program vulnerabilities or security flaws introduced in software development are exposed largely to various attacks and intrusions. Therefore, research on software security is becoming an active field in information technology. Thesis attempts to conduct a comprehensive research on attack and defense of buffer over flow under Windows platform.1.Presentation of buffer overflow attack model based on Category theory.Buffer overflow attack model based on Category theory is brought forward in the paper by exploring the progress of buffer overflow attack and systematically summarize its attack process.2.Thesis does some research on the key technique of buffer overflow attack.The shellcode is analysised in the paper including breaking through filtering string of the system, decreasing the size of the shellcode with a new compression algrithom designed by the author.
