Machine tool industry is a country's basic industry, whose development has a very close relationship with the improvement of manufacturing technology. It can be said that the development level of a country's machine tool is the measure of its industrial development level. As a kind of important machine tools, grinder, especially high speed grinder plays an important role in the process of modern industrial development. However, on the research of high speed grinder, the uprise step is late and the starting point is low in our country; the development level of high speed grinder obviously lags behind western countries. This paper proposes a self-developed structural optimization software platform for components and parts of high speed grinder, which is used for the structural characteristic optimization of the key components and parts of high speed grinder, according to the problem existed in the old method for high speed grinder structural improvement.Self-developed software platform applied modular development techniques, combined with the Visual C ++6.0 and FORTRAN programming languages. Visual C+ +6.0, whose visual user interface feature was fully used, as a main programming language, displayed the structural optimization progress to software users step by step by the way of human computer interaction. In the course of mixed programming, FORTRAN compiled all the dynamic link libraries such as batch computing by finite element software, design of experiment and approximation model, genetic algorithm and so on; Visual C ++6.0 realized Dynamic link library calls with its good language programming interface with FORTRAN. Visual C ++6.0 packaged all the functions and data required together for each function module, set class member access authorization as public, private or protected according to different needs to achieve data sharing and data masks between class and class.Self-developed software platform combined with some numerical methods such as finite element method, design of experiment, approximate model, and genetic algorithm. Self-developed software platform can translate the complicated structural optimization problem into a simple numerical optimization problem, to a certain extent, reduce the workload of structural optimization for components and parts of high speed grinder, and reduce human and resources, save time and force.In this paper, experiments are used for the verification of structural optimized result of spindle got by software platform and the solution of connection stiffness for...
