Recently,the developmental speed of Internet is faster than ever.It becomes an integrated carrier gradu-ally,which has multi business such as data,voice,video, multimedia and so on. Furthermore,new multimedia applications require the network to guarantee quality of service. But the best-effort forwarding mechanism of IP can't guarantee real-time and accuracy.It has become the biggest obstacle of IP network's development into broadband comprehensive services network. So how to improve the utilization of network resources and its performance is the urgent task in the development of current network and the problem that traffic engineering will solve. Researchers in academia have done much to this and several QoS based networking frame-works(e.g.,Intserv,diffserv)are proposed,which can provide kinds of protection for QoS.However,when con-gestion of the local network arises because of a heavy load,the performance of QoS will decline.MPLS(Multiprotocol Label Switch) is not to solve the QoS problem when originally proposed.But it has become an importmant tool for the implement of QoS. MPLS integrates the flexibility to IP routing and the simplicity of switching and add connection trait to the connectionless IP network. It combines the switching technology of core network and IP routing technology of edge network,so it can make a balanced distribution of traffic on the network to achieve the objective of improving the overall performance of the network through the reasonable control of network traffic,which well implemented traffic engineering. MPLS Traffic Engineer-ing controls the network flow distribution precisely with Routing-Control Technology,so MPLS con-straint-based routing will be the core function module in the Internet.This essay aims at the routing algorithm in MPLS Traffic Engineering.Specifically, the major work to do and innovation are as follows:1,This paper first introduced the research background and its significance,Then we introduced the two kinds of QoS service model and the basic principle of MPLS and its core technology and working mechanisms. At the same time, we elaborated MPLS working mechanism for QoS guarantees.2,Composition and realization of MPLS constraint-based routing principles were discussed in detail. At the same time,Analysis, comparison and summary of the current multi-constrained routing algorithm espe-cially to minimum interference algorithms were gave.3,Research work on challenges of current routing algorithms for MPLS traffic engineering was investi-gated,and an improved routing approach was proposed, which was characterized by taking average occupancy rate, interference and competition into consideration. This approach acquired k shortest paths using k shortest path algorithm firstly and then choosed the path which minimized the occupied resources and balanced the load. It achieved both high resource efficiency and low computation complexity. Simulation results showed that our proposed algorithm performed better than the existing famous algorithms in the literature.4,In view of a large amount of uncertain information within IP network and its effects upon QoS of multimedia traffic. Firstly, the reasons for production of uncertain information were discussed. Secondly, a network model based on non-precision state was established. Next, a new MPLS routing algorithm named INSRBA(An inaccurate network state and resource balancing algorithm) based on uncertain information to guarantee network QOS was proposed. This algorithm not only considered the uncertainty of the network state but introduced a thought of link load balance. Simulation results showed that this algorithm balanced the net-work load and decreased the refusing rate for LSPs request.
