Wireless sensor networks (WSNs: Wireless Sensor Networks) is considered as one of the most important emerging technology in the 21st century, wireless sensor networks target tracking is an important application field, sensor network distributed tracking is to solve the problem of energy imbalance in a fundamental way. This paper is to study the distributed target tracking issues of wireless sensor networks based on hardware platforms and software platforms. The study includes wireless sensor network target tracking data processing, filtering, task scheduling strategy node co-design, energy management and optimization of scheduling and presentation platform for wireless sensor network design and implementation. This demonstration system uses ultrasonic sensors and Extended Kalman filtering to locate mobile single-target in wireless sensor networks. Embedded application is programmed by TinyOS / NesC. Application layer is developed by Labview. In order to optimize the energy consumption of the network to extend network life, to increase system robustness, to fasten convergence and to improve tracking accuracy, two scheduling algorithms are proposed. One is based on the smallest trace of covariance matrix scheduling system and the other is to maximize the life cycle of the WSNs. The complex tracking problem can be ran on very limited resources of sensor nodes in the sub-task, through the synergy work between nodes, which overcomes the lack of a single node performance to meet quality requirements tracking tracking applications (Quality of Tracking, QoT). Experimental results demonstrate that the extended Kalman algorithm is correct, show the two nodes scheduling strategies tracking performance, and also verifie that the corresponding nodes scheduling strategies are effective and correct.
