With the development of electronic technology and cellular technology continues to improve, the wireless communications industry in the world are developing rapidly. Antenna for wireless communication systems is an important component. Antenna performance has a direct impact of the communication system performance. In mobile communication systems, the most important thing is analogue and digital cellular radio systems, the main frequency range around 800~1000MHz and 1700~2200MHz wireless LAN system. Cellular system band width of between 8%~17% change.A novel crossed shape dual-band antenna for wireless communication applications is proposed in this paper. The antenna consists of two crossed rectangular structure and ground plane. The volume of the antenna is 64×110mm2. The measured results show that the antenna's bandwidth is 140MHz (820-960MHz) and 600MHz (1.7-2.3GHz) at the lower and higher band respectively under the condition of voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) less than 1.5. In addition, dimension parameters'variation is studied to further investigate the effect to antenna performance. The antenna gain reaches 1.15 dBi and 6.8 dBi at the lower and higher frequency, respectively, which satisfies the requirement of wireless communication system.
